Join Claire in this exploration of how we can support all children, no matter what their background or culture. All children have the right to experience equality of opportunity and a sense of belonging in their early childhood setting.

Claire will explain how Nature Pedagogy and inquiry-based practices such as Talking Tubs, facilitate inclusive education in the early years, promoting inclusivity, individuality and embracing cultural diversity.

Using these approaches can empower children to increase their agency and positively affect their educational achievement.

You'll leave this masterclass feeling equipped to develop pedagogical approaches within your everyday practice that celebrate uniqueness and support cultural capital and social justice.

All attendees are welcome to join the host team on a tour of their centre 17:00 - 18:00

Objectives

By the end of this training session you'll be able to:

  1. Discuss inclusion and diversity as concepts and consider their impact in your setting.
  2. Define how the values of Nature Pedagogy and inquiry-based practice underpin children's sense of inclusion and engagement in play and learning.
  3. Outline how you can support the individuality of the children you work with within your setting.

"We've just finished our session with Claire and I wanted to write to tell you that it was wonderful! We are enthused and invigorated! We had limited knowledge of cultural capital and this training has really opened our eyes about the potential of inquiry-based learning to engage children in their learning and enjoy more equal opportunities, no matter what cultural capital they possess."
