Impact of the training

Here is some feedback from Managers of settings whose staff took part in the training

I have seen a huge improvement in the staff's confidence in delivering outdoor learning. They are now more aware of the opportunities available to us in our local environment and can plan for quality play experiences outdoors whatever the weather. They are more relaxed and feel able to take their time to observe the children and really listen to them. Their interactions with the children are more meaningful and focused.

It encouraged us to explore nature and helped to

ensure we explored the wooded area on our school

site. It helped the children to engage in their

learning and take a real interest in nature.

Our families have had nothing but praise for the information and play snapshots we have sent them. We are currently discussing our Floorbooks with the children before sharing them with the parents.

Now I am a proud Senior Early Years Practitioner with a team of staff who have lots of knowledge and understanding for outdoor learning, we now reflect on the outdoors as what would be offered indoors, and it clearly shows by the evidence in our outdoor Floorbook.

The staff has shown a lot more confidence planning activities outdoors. We took part in Floorbook training which we have now implemented into our setting has benefitted our learning journeys giving a more clear next steps and how we can take it further.

This training has helped us see the potential in our local landscape and how to utilise this. Staff have more ideas to explore regarding open-ended play activities and will use their Floorbooks to document this.
