Family Books - Creating interesting relevant and accessible individual profiles - Training Talk

In this training talk, Dr Claire Warden will outline the purpose of Family Books as part of the Floorbook Approach. Claire will demonstrate how to use them to create interesting, relevant, accessible and individual profiles for your children. She’ll explain how they can support child-led documentation and give children a voice that can then be shared. Family Books have a positive impact on the child, their family and the community around them.

By the end of this training talk you’ll be able to:
1. Explain what a Family Book is.
2. Outline the types of things you can put into a Family Book. 
3. Understand the positive impact that they have on the child, their family and the wider community. 
4. Create an action plan which will help you embed this concept within your setting.
